You do not need a large budget to market your business, but you do need consistency. Here is a simple thirty-day plan for owners who are short on time.
Week 1: get the basics right
Write a single sentence that says who you help and how. Claim your business listing on the main search and map services, and check that your name, address and hours are correct everywhere.
Week 2: build a simple home base
Make sure your website or landing page answers three questions: what you offer, what it costs or how to ask, and how to contact you. Add two or three customer comments if you have them.
Week 3: show up regularly
Choose one social channel and post three times a week: a useful tip, a customer story and a behind-the-scenes photo. Reply to every comment.
Week 4: ask and measure
Ask five happy customers for a review and a referral. Look at what worked best this month and do more of it.
- Track where each new customer heard about you.
- Keep a simple calendar of posts and events.
- Join the chamber directory and promote your business to members.
