Members, sponsors and guests filled the Business Centre on a crisp October morning for the chamber’s 2025 annual general meeting. After registration and coffee, the president opened the session by thanking everyone who had given time to the chamber over the previous twelve months.
The year in numbers
The treasurer walked members through the audited statements and explained how event revenue, sponsorship and membership fees were spent on programs. Members approved the accounts and the appointment of the auditor without objection. The membership report showed steady growth in corporate members and a welcome rise in individual members, many of whom joined after attending a networking evening as a guest.
Program highlights
Committee chairs each gave a short report. The mentorship committee described how many pairs had completed the program and what mentees said they gained. The women’s committee previewed a year of roundtables. The events team thanked the volunteers who staffed registration desks, set up rooms and welcomed first-time guests.
- Corporate networking evenings were held across the year, with strong turnout at the summer mixer.
- The Business Centre welcomed more bookings from members for workshops and meetings.
- A new learning library started to take shape, with short videos and guides for new business owners.
Looking ahead
The board outlined its priorities for the coming term: a simpler way to join and renew online, more programs for young entrepreneurs, and closer ties with other chambers and business groups across Ontario and Quebec. Members asked questions on venue pricing, sponsorship packages and ways to volunteer, and the board promised written answers in the next newsletter.
The meeting closed with a networking reception. Photos from the day are now in the gallery for members who could not attend.
