On a warm September afternoon the chamber held an open house at its Business Centre. Members, neighbours and local business owners toured the hall, the meeting rooms and the reception area, and met the team that looks after bookings.
What visitors saw
The main hall can be arranged for lectures, banquets or workshops, and the smaller rooms suit board meetings, interviews and training sessions. Staff demonstrated how a booking works from start to finish: choose the room, pick a time, add extras such as projector or catering, and receive a confirmation by email. Members receive a discounted rate, and community groups can ask about special pricing.
Why it matters to members
Many small businesses do not have space to meet clients or host a training session. The Business Centre gives them a professional address and an affordable room by the hour. Several guests said the visit helped them plan their own events, from product launches to staff workshops.
- Walk-through of each room and its capacity.
- A short talk on how to request a booking in the portal.
- Refreshments from a member-owned caterer.
Guests were invited to sign up for the newsletter and to look at the membership plans on the website. Photos from the afternoon are in the gallery. If you could not attend, the team is happy to arrange a private tour; ask through the booking page.
