The chamber’s Women’s Committee has announced a year of roundtable evenings for women in business. Each roundtable is a small, relaxed gathering with a theme, a short opening talk and plenty of time for conversation.
The first four themes
The committee chose themes based on a survey of members earlier in the year. Funding and financing topped the list, followed by leadership, marketing and managing time. Guests will include owners who have grown their business, a banker who works with small firms, and a lawyer who can explain contracts in everyday language.
- Funding your first or next stage of growth.
- Leading a team for the first time.
- Marketing without a big budget.
- Protecting your time and your health as an owner.
Who should come
Roundtables are open to members and their guests, and the first evening was free for anyone curious about the chamber. Seating is limited to keep conversations personal, so register through the events page. Light refreshments are provided, and the committee tries to hold sessions at times that work for parents.
The committee is also looking for volunteers to help host. If you enjoy welcoming people and keeping notes, let the events team know. Summaries of each roundtable will be shared in the newsletter and the learning library so that those who could not attend can follow along.
